Alpine, UT | Bottger Family

We were new to the state, our 3 year old had just suffered from a minor concussion, and the doctor informed us that we needed to stay in the hospital overnight. I felt a brief wave of panic as I wondered what we’d do with our 3 other kids… then I thought of the Bottger family, and I immediately felt relief.  It was just a couple months earlier that we had met the Bottgers at church.  They had welcomed us like we were part of their family, and I knew they would help us if they could.  They took our oldest kids to their home so that my husband, our baby, and I could stay with our little boy in the hospital.  We were so grateful to know such amazing people who we could trust in our time of need.

And that is exactly who the Bottgers are… amazing.  They’re all about serving, working, loving, and going on adventures.  I knew something was different about them when their oldest started babysitting for us. Our kids loved it when Elsa came over. She brought an activity bag with her when she babysat- she played games with them, helped them with arts and crafts, read to them, star gazed with them in the backyard, left treats & notes for them, and she even cleaned!  I remember coming home one time when she and Thomas were both babysitting- we caught them cleaning our kitchen floors!  We were so impressed.  But it wasn’t a big deal to them… the Bottgers are people who help and serve.  That’s just what they do.  They don’t make it complicated or hard, they just do it.  They do hard things and maybe they don’t even know they’re hard… hiking, helping with service projects, babysitting, participating in sports, taking hard classes, taking pictures when it was cold outside… 🙂

Bottger Family- thank you for allowing me the pleasure of taking your family photos!!  It was so much fun to enjoy your company and experience the stunning Tibble Fork in American Fork Canyon with you.  Thank you for being such good sports in the cold weather:) Thank you- all of you- for offering to hold my gear during the photo shoot, and for being willing to drive and hike to this beautiful spot for pictures.  I love how these pictures turned out- you are such a good looking family!! Thank you for all the many things you’ve done for me and my family, but more especially for being the amazing people you are.  I feel honored to know you:)
