I could use some lessons from the Berger family. They have so much going on with 3 littles close together, but each time I’ve been with them, they’ve been so genuinely calm, happy, patient, and kind. It’s pretty impressive to me. I have felt so honored each time I’ve been able to take pictures of them, but this time was extra special- getting to meet their new baby boy.
There really is nothing like a newborn baby. Observing them and being with them pauses time for me and helps me remember what life is truly about. This experience was no exception. Seeing how the whole family welcomed and loved this sweet little baby was a little emotional for me. The older boys were still boys- they were energetic and busy, but there was still a feeling of reverence in their home. Everyone seemed to feel and know just how special and significant it was to have a new baby in their home. I remember when we brought our 3rd little boy home from the hospital. Johnny and Joseph’s eyes glowed when they saw and touched and examined Sam for the first time. We didn’t really have to say anything. They just knew how special this was.
Andrea and Michael, thank you for trusting me to be a part of such a memorable time for your family last fall. You have such a beautiful family, and you are incredible parents. Keep enjoying those sweet cuddles and even the chaos of it all. You’re doing great things. I wish you the very best and hope our paths cross again!
