I had just started dating my future husband and came out to visit him in Washington D.C. Meeting Rick’s friends was something I was a little nervous about. They were all really smart, just finished their MBAs at George Washington University, had great jobs, were making a difference in this world, and seemed to have it all together. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I definitely felt a little intimidated. I remember the first time I met Temple and Dameon. They had this way about them that completely rid me of my fears and insecurities. I felt loved, I felt important, I felt like I was with family, and it’s been like that ever since with them. They are some of the most loving, respectful, genuine people I have come in contact with. I truly feel like I can be myself with them- that they love me and accept me exactly the way I am. It’s a wonderful feeling to be with people like the Philpotts.
Meeting them in Washington DC was just the beginning. I eventually moved to the East Coast and was able to rub shoulders with them for a couple of monumental years for all of us: my husband and I getting married, their first baby, our first baby, and lots of fun double dates, dinners, and conversations. They moved to the Bay Area right before our first baby was born, and little did we know that we’d follow them 7 years later and would be able to spend 2 more years close to them again. The best part about living close to them this last time was getting to know their amazing boys, and seeing all of our kids interact together. Their boys are talented, smart, kind, and so funny. It was such a treat every time we got to see them.
To the Philpotts family- Thank you for letting me take your family pictures! This photo shoot was one of those dream shoots for me. You kept me laughing throughout the whole evening, and it was especially nice to spend this time with you before we moved from the Bay Area. I love you all! You are all gorgeous, both in and out, and I consider it an honor to know you.
