I’ve always wanted to be the kind of mom who lets my kids explore and learn through creativity and imagination. My ideal day is a day filled with running and playing outside, finding and studying bugs and other creatures, climbing a tree and finding the perfect spot to relax and read a book. I seem to go through cycles- when I strive for this ideal, then life gets busy, and the schedules and craziness take over and the creativity suffers. Then I meet people like the Reece family, and I realize that the ideal is so much more reachable than I sometimes think it is. The Reece family makes family life and parenting look achievable and rewarding. The girls (and the parents!) are always outside exploring, doing science experiments, creating artwork, running around and enjoying the outdoors, reading books, or playing games. When they’re not outside playing, they seem to always be going on adventures like hiking, and camping. Yes, they are seriously that awesome:). And it’s just a part of their every day life- they’ve helped me to remember that small and simple little adjustments can make such a huge difference and can help me to achieve the kind of family culture we aim for. They’re also some of the kindest people I have met. They have loved our family as their own and have made our lives so much sweeter because of their friendship.
To the Reece Family: Thank you for allowing me the privilege of taking these family photos! It was an absolute joy to spend that time with you and to capture some sweet moments of your beautiful family. I am so grateful to call you my friends! Thank you for being so kind to me and my family. You inspire us all 🙂
